Job Details

This role involves a leadership & management role within our residential houses, it is a 4 bedded house which provides support to young people aged 12 and under.

The successful candidate will be expected to oversee all leadership & management tasks within the house, including, provision of supervision, oversight of a staff rota, co-ordinating Care Planning meetings, producing care plans, chairing team meetings, finance checks, health & safety audits and medication audits.

The successful candidate will be expected to ensure young people are supported by a staff team who provide a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment for young people in their care.

The successful candidate will be expected to ensure care staff provide appropriate levels of supervision and attunement to young people, making themselves available to young people at times of need.

The successful candidate will be expected to work with young people to support them to manage risk.

The successful candidate will be expected to see beyond presenting behaviours and to demonstrate compassion and empathy.

The successful applicant will be expected to uphold professional standards as detailed by the SSSC and the Care Inspectorate.

Enhancements for unsocial hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Pay is every 4 weeks and annualised for 38 week contracts.

Training - access to and support with training opportunities and qualifications for the job.

Pension - Membership of Fife Pension Fund which is part of the Scottish Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS Scotland).

The Person

Significant experience of working with young people who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences.

Significant experience of working in a Residential Childcare environment.

In depth understanding of the concepts and principles of Attachment Promoting & Trauma Informed Care.

Significant experience of leading staff teams within a Residential Childcare environment.

Educated to or be willing to achieve at least SCQF Level 8, which includes HND, SVQ Level 4 (Children & Young People) or Diploma/Degree in Social Work, Masters in Advanced Residential Childcare.

A full driving licence is ideally preferred, or a willingness to travel throughout Fife using public transport.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.
